10 Pitfalls of Makeup, Have You Made the Same Mistakes?

1. Avoid Overly White Foundation
Many makeup artists appeal to their female friends: Stop wearing white makeup! Fair skin is nice, but the obvious color difference between the face and neck often reveals the difference. The base makeup must be applied evenly on the hairline and corners of the mouth, otherwise it will give the impression of thick powder.
The foundation should be tested directly on the junction of the face and neck. Look in the mirror under natural light. If the color blends into your skin, that’s right! Don’t choose a foundation that is too different from your skin color. It's more beautiful to be natural!

2. Remove Mascara Carefully
Failure to remove mascara happens to many girls. Over time, eyelashes become brittle and unhealthy. It’s okay to just pick up the cleansing oil to remove mascara, but it’s best to pour the cleansing oil or eyelash makeup remover onto a cotton pad first, then treat your eyelashes like sandwich biscuits, and wait until the cleansing oil dissolves the mascara, you can remove mascara smoothly. For the sparser lower eyelashes, you can also use a cotton swab dipped in makeup remover to clean it along the side where mascara is applied.

3. Don’t Draw Your Eyebrows in a Line
Walking in the downtown area, there are still many people who draw their eyebrows into two lines with eyebrow pencils. Stop doing this because your eyebrows are not "born" with just two lines. If the eyebrows are sparse, you should draw them one by one with a pencil at a 45-degree angle in a smudged manner. The compromise method is to use the eyebrow pencil to draw the eyebrow shape and smudge the recently popular eyebrow powder slightly to create a natural hair-like effect.

4. Absorb Oil before Touching up Makeup
In the hot weather, many people feel that their faces are greasy, so they naturally pick up powder and swoop it on their faces, but they ignore the oil secreted on their faces, which can cause makeup to clump. At the end of the day, these caked-on powder makeup will get stuck in the wrinkles at the corners of your eyes and mouth, making you look ten years older. It also makes the entire makeup smudged and dirty. So remember to use oil-absorbing tissue to absorb excess oil from your face before touching up makeup, so that you can get better results.

5. Start Makeup Touch-up from the T-Zone
Many girls start directly with the cheeks whether when fixing makeup or exfoliating. Get rid of this bad habit now! Makeup should start from the T-zone and forehead, which are prone to oil. You only need to apply a very small amount or even no touch-up on the cheeks. The principle of exfoliation is the same. The training gestures should start from the T-zone and then to the surrounding area of the face.

6. Clean Your Brushes
While putting on makeup, you discovered that you used the same brush to apply the same blush today, but didn’t get the same effect as before. Maybe you should check whether the brush is dirty! Cleaning the brush is very important. Brushes not only tend to trap dirt but also absorb oil on the face. Over time, the ability to absorb powder will also decrease. Therefore, it is good to develop a good habit of cleaning brushes regularly.

7. Use Concealer Wisely
Concealer has become a must-have on girls’ dressing tables. But be careful when choosing colors! If the blemishes are not obvious, the concealer used to cover the acne should not be too dark. You can’t apply it only on the pimples, remember to apply it around the pimples to make it look natural. To cover dark circles, the color should be slightly darker than your skin tone. If you have large cheekbone spots, it is best to use liquid foundation mixed with concealer, which will be more natural and will not cause color difference.

8. Liquid Foundation + Pressed Powder = Thick Makeup
The most failed example of makeup application is that it is like wearing a mask, and the original skin condition cannot be seen at all. Many people will follow the traditional makeup method, first applying liquid foundation, and then applying pressed powder directly. Liquid foundation and pressed powder are definitely makeup products that need to be used separately. If you put on a liquid foundation, just apply loose powder! Keep the pressed powder in your bag and use it to touch up when you take off your makeup!

9. Only Focus on One Point of Color on Your Face
You couldn't wait to try various colors on your face but ended up making your face look like a Christmas tree. It was a failure! It's the same as wearing clothes. Just choose one of the eyes, cheeks, and lip gloss as the focus. Don't be greedy and try to put everything on your face. When applying colorful eye makeup, keep your lip gloss lighter. On the other hand, if you don’t have much time to apply eye makeup, a bright lip color can make you look more energetic.

10. Lip and Eyeliner Should be Natural
The latest popular way to draw eyeliner is not to draw it along the root of the eyelashes, but to go one step further and draw it at the junction of the eyelashes. The closer to the eye, the better and more natural.
Also, it’s best not to draw a smaller lip shape. This also makes you look old-fashioned. You might as well use a lip liner as a base and then apply lip gloss. In this way, the color will be enough without making it look dull or greasy.
